Texte et texture dans le langage hip-hop : le cas du mouvement “Y’EN A MARRE”

Abstract

This article focuses on the involvement of the artists of the citizen movement called “Y en a marre” in the Senegalese political field. Contrary to Arab Spring during which people have chosen arms to change political governments in Africa, this movement uses the force of word in its struggle. This article attempts to describe their language productions and finally to better understand the scope of their discourse. Indeed, the analysis revealed that the communication of Y’ en a marre rappers focuses on two types of discourses such as “sung discourses” and “verbal addresses”. In “sung discourses”, the agents are named and all subjects are linguistically indicated. As far as “verbal addresses” are concerned, it is a change of tone that becomes harder. In this type of discourse, there is only one agent topicalized in front of a verbal form in the imperative mood.
