Soft Skills and Youth Employability in the Moroccan Labor Market: Challenges and Policy Implications
Abstract
The employability of young people has become a central concern where persistent youth unemployement coexists with increasing demand for skilled labor. Altough educational attainment among Moroccan youth has improved. Employers continue to emphsize the importance of soft skills alongside technical qualifications. This article examines the role of soft skills in shaping youth employability in Moroccan labor market. It explores the mismatch between education and labor market expectations, identify key soft skills valued by employers, and analyses institutional responses aimed at addressing existing gaps. The article argues that strenghtening soft skills among Moroccan youth is essential for enhancing labor market integration, improving productivity and supporting inculsive economic development
