Library Based Review of the Vocabulary Test Construction Principles

Abstract

This study aims to explore the purpose, aspects, format, mode, and types of the vocabulary test. In addition, this study aims to explore the principles for the construction of the vocabulary test. In its nature, this study is descriptive and relies on library method of data collection i.e. the data for this study has been accessed/downloaded/retrieved from different search engines in electronic form. The literature reports that there are different aspects, purposes, modes, types and principles for the construction of vocabulary tests. On the basis of these findings, this study suggests that the teachers should keep in mind the said purposes, formats, principles and types while constructing a test for vocabulary.
