Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the level of achievement motivation among nurses in primary health care centers in Jordan. The descriptive analytical approach was used. The study sample consisted of (109) male and female nurses who were randomly selected. The achievement motivation scale was applied, and the psychometric properties of the scales were extracted. The results of the study showed that the level of motivation for achievement among nurses in primary health care centers is high. It also showed that there are apparent differences in the arithmetic averages of the level of motivation for achievement among nurses due to gender, age, academic degree, and number of years of work, but they are not statistically significant at the significance level (0.05). The study indicated that the organizational environment that supports the nurse's independence contributes directly to raising his efficiency and assuming responsibility without the need for continuous administrative oversight. The study recommended the need to improve moral motivation strategies to increase nurses' emotional connection to their profession and provide guidance programs to provide them with psychological and social care.
