About the Journal

Founded in 2021, the International Journal of Literature Studies is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Al-Kindi Center for Research and Development.

Focus and Scope

The International Journal of Literature Studies covers the latest developments in broad areas of literature. With its uniquely broad coverage, the journal offers readers free access to all new research issues relevant to literature. While IJLS strives to maintain high academic standards and an international reputation through the suggestions of the international advisory board, it welcomes original, theoretical and practical submissions from all over the world.

Publication Frequency

International Journal of Literature Studies publishes articles on a continuous basis. Articles are published in the current issue as soon as they are peer-reviewed, accepted, copyedited, and proofread, allowing a steady stream of informative quality articles. The journal then archives the articles within 3 issues:  January-April; May-August; September-December. In the continuous publication, articles may be submitted at any time. They still undergo the same process of peer review and preparation, but this can begin right away and ends as soon as the article is ready.

Types of Contributions

The journal publishes the following types of contributions: (1) full-length articles, (2) review articles, (3) book reviews, (4) discussion notes and (5) articles in translation.

Open Access Policy

This is an open-access journal, i.e. all articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, copy & distribute. The journal is published under the CC BY 4.0 user license, which defines the permitted 3rd-party reuse of its articles.

Submission Fee

There is no submission fee for the International Journal of Literature Studies.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

The article processing charge of the journal is $150.

Conflict of Interest

Conflicts of interest may exist when professional judgements concerning a primary interest have the possibility of being influenced by a secondary interest (e.g.: financial gains). It is to be noted that even perceptions of conflicts of interest are as important as the actual conflicts of interest.
Any agreements with study sponsors (for-profit or non-profit), which interfere with the authors’ access to the study data, ability to analyse or interpret the data and publish manuscripts independently according to their own decision, should be avoided by authors at all costs.
A declaration of interest for all authors must be received before an article can be reviewed and accepted for publication.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
We fully support and encourage the author self-archiving of all content (sometimes termed 'green' open access). All our journals are registered with SHERPA/RoMEO to ensure that the license terms and self-archiving policies of the journals are 100% clear.
The journal is indexed by Google Scholar and available for harvesting via OAI-PMH.
If the journal is not indexed by your preferred service, please let us know by emailing (ijlss@al-kindipublisher.com) or alternatively by making an indexing request directly with the service.
