About the Journal

Founded in 2021, the International Journal of Linguistics Studies (IJLS) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Al-Kindi Center for Research and Development. It publishes high-quality articles across the breadth of linguistics research. With its uniquely broad coverage, all articles are free to access across the globe, allowing authors to share their research and maximise its impact.

The journal is led by Editor-in-Chief Dr Arif Ahmed Al-Ahdal supported by expert international editorial board members who take an objective approach to peer review, ensuring each research paper is reviewed and evaluated on its own scholarly merits and research integrity.

Focus and Scope

Publication Frequency

The International Journal of Linguistics Studies publishes articles on a continuous basis. Articles are published in the current issue as soon as they are peer-reviewed, accepted, copyedited, and proofread, allowing a steady stream of informative quality articles. The journal then archives the articles within 3 issues: January-April; May-August; September-December. In the continuous publication, articles may be submitted at any time. They still undergo the same process of peer review and preparation, but this can begin right away and ends as soon as the article is ready. 

Types of Contributions

Authors should consider their chosen article type carefully; the journal accepts the following types of contributions: research articles, review articles and book reviews.


Open Access Policy

This is an open-access journal, i.e. all articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, copy & distribute. The journal is published under the CC BY 4.0 user license which defines the permitted 3rd-party reuse of its articles. 

Submission Fee

There is no submission fee for the International Journal of Linguistics Studies.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The International Journal of Linguistics Studies has an article processing charge of $100.

Conflict of Interest

Conflicts of interest may exist when professional judgements concerning a primary interest have the possibility of being influenced by a secondary interest (e.g.: financial gains). It is to be noted that even perceptions of conflicts of interest are as important as the actual conflicts of interest. Any agreements with study sponsors (for-profit or non-profit), which interfere with the authors’ access to the study data, ability to analyse or interpret the data and publish manuscripts independently according to their own decision, should be avoided by authors at all costs. A declaration of interest for all authors must be received before an article can be reviewed and accepted for publication.

Archiving

This journal utilizes  CLOCKSS, and LOCKSS  archiving systems to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. The journal is indexed by Google Scholar and available for harvesting via OAI-PMH. If the journal is not indexed by your preferred service, please let us know by emailing editor@al-kindipublishers.com or alternatively by making an indexing request directly with the service.

Publication data

All papers within the journal are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) at the time of publication, providing a more persistent identifier to the article and helping to track citations.

Plagiarism Screening

All accepted articles are screened using plagiarism checking software.

Advertisement Policy 

The journal does not currently host adverts on the website.
