The current study tackles the way puritan patriarchal society marginalizes female writers and intellectuals, such as Ann Bradstreet, in a way that demolishes their identities. It also aims to depict these female intellectuals as breakers of the social norms in challenging the Puritan spiritual authority and its social system, so their writings were not valuable, and their voices were not heard. More significantly, the study shows how the social/religious conventions created within the puritan were used as a weapon against female writers. Thus, for puritans, the idea of women being writers or poets was not acceptable.
2024-03-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://al-kindipublisher.com/index.php/jhsss/article/view/6895The Mediating Role of Ethical Brand Equity: A Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling in Moroccan Islamic Banking2024-03-02T07:17:05+00:00BELGHITATE WIDADbelghitate.widad@gmail.comMSSASSI SAIDmsawalmeh@gmail.com
Most research in marketing ethics focuses on the ethics of the marketing professional or salesperson, while information on the consumer perspective is scarce (Vitell, 2003). According to Laczniack and Murphy, only 5% of research in the marketing ethics literature focuses on the consumer context. As the main actors in commercial transactions, consumers are increasingly crucial to companies, requiring a thorough understanding of their opinions on brand marketing ethics (Al-khatib, 2005). Clearly, ethical business practices influence consumer behavior, prompting brands to gear their practices more towards morality, as buyer behavior, in turn, impacts these companies' bottom lines (Fan, 2005). An ethical brand is one that strives to do no harm to the public good, acting with integrity, honesty, responsibility, acceptability and respect (Fan, 2005). Islamic banking is often interpreted as a solution to the moral crises inherent in the conventional, debt-ridden financing models promoted by Western financial institutions. It represents an alternative financial system in line with Islamic principles, offering an interest-free approach that promotes justice and fosters social cohesion (Abdul Hassan, 2008). Several studies have attempted to examine branding from the spiritual perspective of the Islamic brand (El Amir and Burt, 2010) in order to assess the impact of beliefs on corporate branding (Maula et al.,2016). In Islamic banking, beliefs and a sense of connection with the creator represent an important spiritual attribute in the customer's relationship with the brand (Abratt and Kleyn, 2012). In this article, we study the contribution of perceived brand ethics to the development of brand trust in Moroccan Islamic banking using the structural equation modeling partial least squares (PLS) method.
2024-03-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://al-kindipublisher.com/index.php/jhsss/article/view/6875The Three Rabbits with Common Ears: The Trajectory of Dunhuang Murals2024-02-27T03:47:08+00:00Zhenhan Zhai3082282520@qq.com
Over the course of thousands of years, the weathered murals have once again become apparent. Among them, the “Three Rabbits Sharing Ears” caisson pattern is a unique decorative element in Dunhuang murals, depicting the unique scene of “Three Rabbits Sharing Ears”. Therefore, the symbolism behind it has attracted academic attention. This article introduces the development history and cultural symbols of “caisson”, the symbolism of the “Three Rabbits Sharing Ears” pattern, and its manifestation as a “rail object paradigm”. Through comprehensive literature research and comparative analysis of other themes, this article aims to reveal that the “Three Rabbits Sharing Ears” caisson represents family unity, prosperity, and fertility prayers, providing a new perspective for further understanding the cultural connotation and artistic expression of Dunhuang murals.
2024-03-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Zhenhan Zhaihttps://al-kindipublisher.com/index.php/jhsss/article/view/6837Sources and Updating of French Vocabulary2024-02-20T07:39:49+00:00Hang SUchandler_su@163.com
Phonology, vocabulary and grammar are the three main elements of language, and compared with phonology and grammar, vocabulary is the most rapidly changing part of language, in which social development, scientific and technological progress, and changes in human thoughts and customs are all reflected. Batik is a patterned cloth made using tie-dye or printing techniques. Batik has a long history and has been part of Indonesian culture for centuries. This research aims to analyze the legal protection of batik as a cultural heritage in Indonesia from the perspective of intellectual property rights. This research uses normative juridical research methods. The data collection technique in this research is a literature study. The data that has been collected is then analyzed in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The research results show that Batik is one of the works protected by law and contained in Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. This shows an effort to recognize, protect and promote batik as an inseparable part of Indonesian cultural identity. However, there are still challenges in maintaining authenticity and protecting and promoting batik, especially related to piracy practices and the protection of batik copyright.
2024-03-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Wiwik Sri Widiartyhttps://al-kindipublisher.com/index.php/jhsss/article/view/6922Post-Pandemic Legislative Transition Analysis in China’s Metropolises: Street Vending between Prohibition and Legalization2024-03-07T06:58:02+00:00Xiaobo Lianglxb6599@163.comJiayin Zhang1332321246@qq.comJunlan Yao1332321246@qq.com
The governance of the street vendor economy has always been an important part of the social grass-roots governance. To stimulate the economy and ensure employment in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, the Chinese government's policy towards the street vendor economy has transitioned from prohibition to legalization. This paper traces the three distinct historical phases of China's economic policy concerning street stalls in the 21st century, shedding light on the resistance encountered during the process of legalization. Subsequently, it uses policy comparative analysis to explain the legislative transition and the underlying reasons for these changes in three major Chinese metropolises: Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing. The results show that the city's legislative turning and diversion strategies cannot achieve the expected effect. So the paper proffers suggestions for future policy-making. The suggestions include Person-centered place designation, flexible time, and rights protection policy.
2024-03-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Xiaobo Liang, Jiayin Zhang, Junlan Yaohttps://al-kindipublisher.com/index.php/jhsss/article/view/6957Exploring Intercultural Communicative Competence Among Pre-service EFL Teachers: A Case Study of CRMEF in the Fes-Meknes Region2024-03-14T14:05:45+00:00HASSAN ERRADIhassanerradi19@gmail.comSOUAD BELHORMAreima.al.jarf@gmail.com
Preservice training has always been an essential part of the professional life of every teacher. It is considered a significant period in which trainee teachers are provided with the necessary competencies that are vital before entering their classrooms. One of which is knowledge regarding intercultural communicative competence. This paper primarily aims to investigate the level of intercultural communicative competence of the preservice EFL teachers at the CRMEF of the region of Fes-Meknes. To achieve the purpose of this study, the trainee teachers’ ICC level is identified by using Byram’s (1997) model of ICC through a questionnaire, and their attitudes towards this competence and the role of the CRMEF in its development are found out through a semi-structured interview. This study employs a mixed-method approach. Moreover, the study collects the data using two methods such as 1) a questionnaire and 2) a semi-structured interview, with a sample of 117 trainee teachers from two training centres (CRMEF Region Fes - Meknes). The results of the study reveal that the trainee teachers have a fairly high to average ICC level. According to the findings, the trainee teachers believe that ICC is very significant in ELT and they show positive attitudes accordingly, even though there is no presence of IC at the CRMEF. Finally, the results may offer clear feedback to the trainers about trainee teachers’ ICC levels.
2024-03-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024
