The objective of the research is to answer how violations of maxims are showed on Spongebob meme, and what the meanings of it. The writers took Spongebob meme from as a substance to be analysed. This paper uses descriptive qualitative method. The data are analysed using the violations of maxims to arise the implicature based on Grice, semiotic triangle theory based on Richard and Ogden, and the meanings of Spongebob meme are concluded by using inference theory.
