The British Journal of Nursing Studies (BJNS) is an international peer-reviewed, Open Access journal published by y Al-Kindi Center for Research and Development. It aims to provide a valuable platform for researchers, scientists, and experts to share leading and innovative research. It is led by a team of distinguished Editors from various regions across to globe and dozens of expert reviewers that thoroughly inspect all submissions. Articles are published in an open-access format and archived for indefinite access. The journal uses the continuous publication model allowing articles to be published online as soon as they are ready, resulting in a more efficient publication process.
The British Journal of Nursing Studies publishes original papers, review papers, case studies, conference reports, academic exchanges, conceptual framework, empirical research, technical notes, and book reviews in the field of nursing and health.
The British Journal of Nursing Studies (BJNS) publishes articles on a continuous basis. Articles are published in the current issue as soon as they are peer-reviewed, accepted, copyedited, and proofread, allowing a steady stream of informative quality articles. The journal then archives the articles within 2 issues: January-June; July-December. In the continuous publication, articles may be submitted at any time. They still undergo the same process of peer review and preparation, but this can begin right away and ends as soon as the article is ready. Special collections of articles are welcomed and will be published as part of the normal issue, but also within a separate collection page.
Authors should consider their chosen article type carefully; the journal accepts the following types of contributions: research articles, review articles and book reviews.
This is an open-access journal, i.e. all articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, copy & distribute. The journal is published under the CC BY 4.0 user license which defines the permitted 3rd-party reuse of its articles.
There is no submission fee for the British Journal of Nursing Studies.
The British Journal of Nursing Studies has an article processing charge of $100.
Conflicts of interest may exist when professional judgements concerning a primary interest have the possibility of being influenced by a secondary interest (e.g.: financial gains). It is to be noted that even perceptions of conflicts of interest are as important as the actual conflicts of interest. Any agreements with study sponsors (for-profit or non-profit), which interfere with the authors’ access to the study data, ability to analyse or interpret the data and publish manuscripts independently according to their own decision, should be avoided by authors at all costs. A declaration of interest for all authors must be received before an article can be reviewed and accepted for publication.
This journal utilizes CLOCKSS, and LOCKSS archiving systems to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. The journal is indexed by Google Scholar and available for harvesting via OAI-PMH. All papers within the journal are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) at the time of publication, providing a more persistent identifier to the article and helping to track citations.
