About the Journal

The British Journal of Environmental Studies is an international peer-reviewed journal published by Al-Kindi Center for Research and Development. It aims to foster interdisciplinary communication and promote understanding of significant environmental issues. The Journal provides a peer-reviewed, academically rigorous and professionally recognized venue for the publication of explicitly interdisciplinary environmental research, policy analysis and advocacy, educational discourse and other related matters. Contributions are welcome from any discipline or combination of disciplines, any vocation or professional affiliation, any national, ethnic or cultural background. Original research articles, critical reviews, highlights, and perspectives of high quality are published online.

Focus and Scope

The British Journal of Environmental Studies publishes original papers, review papers, case studies, conference reports, academic exchanges, conceptual framework, empirical research, technical notes, and book reviews in the field of environmental research.

Publication Frequency

The publication frequency of the British Journal of Environmental Studies is biannual (2 issues per year).

Types of Contributions

Authors should consider their chosen article type carefully; the journal accepts the following types of contributions: research articles, review articles and book reviews.


Open Access Policy

This is an open-access journal, i.e. all articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, copy & distribute. The journal is published under the CC BY 4.0 user license which defines the permitted 3rd-party reuse of its articles. 

Submission Fee

There is no submission fee for the British Journal of Environmental Studies.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The article processing charge of the British Journal of Environmental Studies is 100 USD.

Conflict of Interest

Conflicts of interest may exist when professional judgements concerning a primary interest have the possibility of being influenced by a secondary interest (e.g.: financial gains). It is to be noted that even perceptions of conflicts of interest are as important as the actual conflicts of interest.

Any agreements with study sponsors (for-profit or non-profit), which interfere with the authors’ access to the study data, ability to analyse or interpret the data and publish manuscripts independently according to their own decision, should be avoided by authors at all costs.

A declaration of interest for all authors must be received before an article can be reviewed and accepted for publication.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. 

The journal is indexed by Google Scholar and available for harvesting via OAI-PMH.
